Uzay Emir, PhD
Dr. Emir specializes on developing and implementing new techniques of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) to investigate brain diseases. He graduated from Ege University in Izmir, Turkey with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and obtained his PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the Bogazici University, Istanbul. He continued with postdoctoral training at the Center for Magnetic Resonance, University of Minnesota. The focus of Dr. Emir’s research was to establish MRI based biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases including ataxias with a goal to assess their progression and response to treatment.
